The Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival is now officially underway and I am still sitting with the schedule and figuring out how to take it all in! It warms my heart to see so many of our local musicians representing and even headlining a few stages during the Festival.

One such show will be happening at the Barracks Tent on Thursday night where Grand Theft Bus will be celebrating the release of their fourth CD “Say It With Me“. The four-piece line up of brothers Tim and Graeme Walker, Dennis Goodwin and Bob Deveau have recently added a fifth member – Brad Perry. This hometown show should not be missed. Go here to give a listen to a new track or two and then get on down to the Barracks Tent and make some noise for these boys!

Ross Neilsen is another local favourite and you will have ample opportunity to see and support him as he will be playing many stages during the weekend both with his band and solo. Amongst all his performances he is pretty stoked to be launching his new solo CD at Harvest – “The Shack Up Sessions” . The release party is being thrown at the Fredericton Playhouse at 4:15 pm on Saturday afternoon. With or without his curls this guy can sing the blues and rock the house!

There will be no lack of opportunity to see/hear many other super talented LOCAL musicans during the Festival and I plan to do my best to get out to support them!
